O flittering butterfly
Let your colours bleed on my petals
Brush your weightless wings against my cheeks
And make me blush crimson and scarlet

Bring me stories from other gardens
Tales from the fields you cross,
Tell me about the fragrant roses you kiss
And about the damsels
who yearn to be pretty and carefree like you

And when you tire of your sojourns,
Come back to me,
I am rooted here, and have nowhere to go
Come, rest with me,
Let my nectar quench your thirst
Before you fly off in another colourful, restless dance
