tales for dreamers: pretty cauliflowers for sale
Cauliflowers now come in every colour other than white. And it's not for the reasons that spring into your mind first.
Gone are the days when cauliflowers used to come in simple whites. Now they come in an assortment of colours â green, orange, purple (and hidden from view are the varieties in red, gold and blue)!
But look away for an instant and turn back, you will find the greens have transformed into reds, the oranges into blues, and the purples into golds. Or perhaps they merely shuffled around when you werenât looking in order to confuse you.
Choose the colour you feel drawn to the most.
Some say these cauliflowers arenât meant to be cut and cooked. Theyâd make for fine displays at home, it is claimed.
I donât know about that. Cauliflowers are not flowers, after all. Smearing gaudy colours on themselves doesnât transform them into bouquets either. But to each their own.
Others say they change colours based on your moods. If youâre angry, theyâd turn red. A yellow one suggests boundless joy. Blue suggests serenity.
If both of the above statements are true â that they are meant to be displayed at home and that they reflect your mood â you might want to think about the guests you invite into your home. Theyâd be privy to any changes to your moods in real time!
But if these suppositions turn you off from purchasing the colourful cauliflowers, fret not.
The truth is that the cauliflowers have taken to changing colours merely for their entertainment.
Itâs quite monotonous otherwise to keep sitting still in the grocery store, under the scrutinizing gaze of people whoâve already made up their minds about cauliflower, and to keep wondering if theyâd be picked or not.
Because being ignored is just as awful as being rejected.
Well, their tactic draws attention to them, youâve got to give them that.
