tales for dreamers: magic's back
You didn't even know magic had left, did you? But now it's back, and that should be reason enough for celebration. Or should it?
Magic is back!
It has been coming back, letter by letter, spell by spell, one enchantment at a time.
This is great news because the world could do with a little bit of magic once more.
People have been waiting eagerly to see how this new magic will work, and what magical changes it will bring. The’ve been guessing and betting, laughing and gossiping, imagining and conjecturing, all of which feels quite magical in itself.
It’s been several weeks now, and things have gone back to how they used to be before the sign appeared on the wall.
The sign is still there. No one takes much notice of it anymore. Those who glance at it dismiss it as a silly prank. No harm done.
If only someone had asked me, I’d have revealed to them the most obvious truth.
That real magic never announces its arrival.
