tales for dreamers: need a hand?
So many hands are willing to offer you their services. Which one will you choose?
There is no dearth of hands here when you’re in need.
The wall offers hands of all … well, I was about to say hands of all shapes and colours and sizes, but upon closer observation, it is evident that the only difference between these hands lies in their gestures.
Still, these hands and their gestures are not cast in stone. You could assume a certain flexibility, I suppose.
The outstretched palms seem to be in need of something. What would you give them? A coin? A gemstone? A secret you’ve never shared with anyone until now? Your hand, perhaps?
Some others seem to beckon you. Come here, they say wordlessly, or so it appears. Perhaps they have a story to tell you, a word of advice or a word of caution to offer.
Some people may take offence at being summoned with the crook of a single finger. Are you one of that sort?
I suppose I am; in my world, I’ve seen only folks who consider themselves superior signal that way to others they deem beneath them. I don’t buy into such discrimination; but such is the way of the world, whether I choose to live by its rules or not.
But let us not forget, these hands are obviously from a different world. Perhaps it’s best to ask them if they really meant any offence before taking any!
And then there are those closed fists. I wonder what they conceal? What they’d reveal?
There’s only one way to find out.
Pick a hand and take it in yours. And see how it responds.
Just be warned. Nobody has tried that out … yet.
Last week's image info: The prop in 'a way out for the werewolf' was in the local Costco. It has since disappeared from there, and I've been looking for it ever since. I think I'm quite close to finding it. Perhaps I'll let you know next week. 😉
