tales for dreamers: the poisoned apple
Is the apple poisoned? If it is, or isn't, what will you do?

The apple is poisoned.
Of course, it is.
See how everyone’s giving it a wide berth. Pretending it doesn’t exist.
It’s red and beautiful and looks like just the perfect juicy snack to bite into on this unnaturally warm day in autumn.
No one knows how it came there. No one wishes to have anything to do with it.
Everyone’s heard the tale of Snow White and the evil Queen, even if they were not born or brought up in the land where Snow White lived. That story is as old and as true as the moon and the stars in the night sky that anyone in any part of the world can see.
The saddest part is everyone can only imagine themselves as Snow White. No one seems to be able to step into the shoes of the evil Queen.
But you can. You, who loves to dwell in the realm of shadows and darkness, in the kingdom of dreams and nightmares, you can imagine what it’d be like to be the evil Queen. Can’t you?
Smart.
Cunning.
Necessarily evil.
So you pocket the apple when you know no one’s looking.
Maybe you’ll give it to the next person who dares annoy you. And they’ll never know what hit them. They’ll never be able to trace it back to you.
But I can. I’ve been watching you all along.
But I won’t rat on you.
Life has gotten too boring in these parts. Sometimes, I’ve got to let the bad ones win to make things a tad interesting.
Last week's image info: The trail 'at the end of a pilgrimage' can be found at Rattlesnake Point. These used to be rough terrain with slippery boulders that have now been converted into stone paths for easier and safer climbing.
