tales for dreamers: dangers lurking on the bridge

The bridge looks harmless. But there's a reason you're being warned there's no salt on the bridge. Find out why in this unsettling fantasy story.

tales for dreamers: dangers lurking on the bridge

The bridge through the tunnel of leaves looks pretty from this point but it has hidden dangers I must warn you of.

That picturesque image of greenery and light at the end of the tunnel is merely an illusion. Truth be told, there is no light at the end. In fact, there is no end to this tunnel. It is merely a long, endless wandering with no set destination in store for you.

Quite frequently, you will get tired on this journey. There are no benches or rest stops along the way.

You could choose to lie down on the ground, but if the earth is in a nasty mood, it could open up and gobble you down without warning. That would mark the end of your journey, then and there. Except, no one will ever know the truth of what happened to you en route.

Oh, and no one cares to sprinkle salt on the bridge. Which means that ghosts and monsters run amok here, without any inhibition or restraint.

Of course, you could always choose to turn around and go back the way you came.

But there’s no telling what perils might have cropped up behind you when you weren’t looking.
